| Executive summary of key ideas, context, methods etc.: |
Resilience is defined as the ability to regain your shape after being bent, compressed or stretched. The main objective with the study is to identify the hardships children go through in Norway and in Southern Africa, to understand how children experience different types of crises. Then to understand what help them to cope and manage well in spite of the hardships. We will be looking for protective factors or protective processes. I use retrospective essay as a method. I am asking pre-school teacher students from Southern Africa and from Norway to write about a difficult period of life, and then reflect on what helped them to cope in that situation. I will also have in-dept interview with some of the students. |
