Aims of the project: The following aims of the project are based on the assumption that in order for the school to fullfil its mission it need to know how its own efforts interact with the influence from social agents outside the school when it relates to the imparting of values and traditions.
1. To study and compare how values are imparted, formally and informally, within the frames of the school system and the social life of Eritrean youth.
2. To examine the impact of the formal and the informal efforts undertaken by the school and society in imparting values and traditions embedded in the cultural heritage in Eritrea.
3. To identify the possibilities and the constraints for the development of attitudes promoting mutual understanding and respect between members of different religious groups in a multicultural society.
4. To develop research models and strategies which could be applied in similar research in other African cultures.
5. A general aim of the project is to contribute to the enhancement of Eritrean research competence.
The project is adopted by the Eritrean Cultural Heritage Project as part of its comprehensive program, under the section "Living Culture".
